Bjarne Emmer and The World Healing Crusade

As of 3/27/03 The World Healing Crusade has removed Bjarne Emmer's pages from their website.

This action followed a series of messages and e-mails alerting Brother Andrew of The World Healing Crusade to the threats of violence by followers of Bjarne Emmer.

Herewith portions of the correspondence between the Daism forum poster known as "ex-devotee", myself, and Brother Andrew of World Healing Crusade.

(For the reader's information, "ex-devotee", one of the most articulate critics of Daism, is known to me personally. He chooses to use an Internet nickname to protect himself from Daist cultists who might behave as the Emmerists do toward their critics -- Elias/webmaster]

Message posted by ex-devotee on WHC's public feedback page:

Brother Andrew,

I want to express my serious concerns about what appears to be a cult supported by or within your organization (the World Healing Crusade), led by a Danish guru, Bjarne Emmer, listed on your website.

Bjarne Emmer's followers, as you can see from this link: http://lightmind.com/thevoid/emmerfile.html, recently made serious threats of physical violence against the webmaster of the Daism Forum at http://lightmind.com/daism/daism.mv.

This forum is devoted to the truthful examination of the notorious self-proclaimed messiah and guru Adi Da and his Adidam cult (you can learn more about these efforts and this very disturbing cult and the harm it has caused on the above site), and offers some of us formerly associated with or adversely affected by this cult a chance to warn others.

Bjarne Emmer and his followers have openly expressed on this forum their fondness for this abusive cult leader, Adi Da, or Franklin Jones as he was known, and have periodically posted strong criticism and some threats there against critics of Adi Da.

They have also used this forum as a vehicle for periodic attacks on spiritual groups they dislike. They were recently blocked from the Daism forum for making more serious threats, which apparently led to the recent threats of physical violence against the webmaster.

A search of the internet for material related to Bjarne Emmer and the World Healing Crusade will verify that Bjarne claims to be a guru, as well as a number of examples where Bjarne and/or his followers vilify other spiritual groups in hateful and threatening language.

I sincerely expect the WHC was not aware of this, does not support this, and understands the need to strongly oppose such cults. I hope you will reconsider your association with Bjarne Emmer. Feel free to contact me for more information.

from Brother Andrew to ex-devotee:

Thank you for writing to me and I have read your words carefully. It appears that you and your group have been deeply hurt by what you have experienced, and I must state that I was completely unaware that Bjarne Emmer had posted such hurtful messages about you and other groups. I am grateful for you advice and I will take this up with our member.

We never knowingly associated with any 'evil' or misguided people, and out of a Worldwide membership of 69,000 people, this is the first complaint that I have received against any of our membership. I must ask you whether you have had similar complaints about your members? As you know, it is impossible to control the activities of such individuals, unless we are notified, and then we take appropriate action. I look forward to your comments.

Very best wishes,

Andrew and the Team

from ex-devotee to Brother Andrew:

Brother Andrew,

Thank you for your kind concern, and for taking the Bjarne Emmer complaints seriously. I decided to find out more about the World Healing Crusade (WHC) which "Shiva" Bjarne Emmer led some people to believe was his organization, due to the physical threats they were making against the Daism Forum Webmaster and others.

As former members of what became the Adidam cult, many of us voluntarily put our thoughts on the forum to try and warn people of the dangers of being deceived by charismatic and abusive kundalini yogis and would-be messiahs, such as Adi Da. If you become familiar (from reading the material and forum at the Knee of Daism website (http://www.lightmind.com/Impermanence/Library/knee/) with Adi Da, a one time seminary student who now claims to be the Promised God Man for all generations and that Jesus was a mere yogi, while engaging in the most abusive behavior, you will understand our concern with "Shiva" Bjarne's actions and his relationship with the WHC.

We do not expect everyone to agree on this Forum, but no one would expect even current cult members to exhibit the kinds of nastiness and threats seen from "Shiva" Bjarne and his "cult" of disciples like Lina J. on the Daism forum. For several years "Shiva" Bjarne and his disciples have been making claims of great spiritual attainment and slurs on other spiritual groups on the internet at many sites, but more recently the threats and nastiness had increased on this particular Daism site because we post actual facts and stories about the dark side of the Adidam cult, and apparently "Shiva" Bjarne was quite upset about that, as he likes and respects Franklin Jones, as Adi Da was formerly known.

We believe in freedom of speech, but it finally became clear that "Shiva" Bjarne and his group had no knowledge of the Adidam cult and was simply here to disrupt the dialogue as they saw fit, attack and threaten others, and that they were using your legitimate WHC ministry as a cover for their activities to recruit followers. I am sorry to have to be the one to bring this apparent cult hidden within your midst to your attention, but we finally realized it was no joke. If you look at the below Bjarne-related material from a google search of the internet, you will see how he has deceived and used the WHC for his own cultic ends...

from Brother Andrew to ex-devotee:

Thank you for your in-depth analysis of the situation and we are grateful to you for the sound advice that you have offered to us. Bjarne was clearly working without our authority and as such we have advised him that the good name of The World Healing Crusade could have been seriously damaged. He worked as a 'Prayer Group Leader' which is a responsible voluntary position in our Charity, but it appears that he has abused that position. He now no longer holds membership with us.

If you would like to receive a free 'Welcome Pack' that contains a wealth of information about the Crusade and its work, then please provide me with your postal address and we will attend to it for you. We do not charge any membership fees, and our magazines are free as well.

Very best wishes,

Andrew and the Team

Dear Sir,

I wonder if you can give me any information relative to Mr. Bjarne Emmer and his relationship with your organization.

The reason I am writing is because he and his followers have been causing quite a ruckus on my website lately and I am trying to learn whether they legitimately represent the teachings and policies of your organization.

thanks for your help,

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your email and I wish to inform you that Bjarne Emmer is an individual with his own views and does not express the teachings of The World Healing Crusade which a well respected UK charity. He has been a supportive member of our organisation, yet since complaints have been levied against him, he has requested that we sever all links because he does not want his activities to adversely affect the Crusade and its work. Therefore we will remove his link from our web site and revoke his membership forthwith!

Yours faithfully,

from Brother Andrew to ex-devotee:

Thanks for the email and I indeed I was truly sorry to read of Bjarne's exploits. We felt that we had a good understanding of his circumstances and worked with him in prayer partnership. Some people are misguided, and clearly he is one of those people. His views do not represent our views! I trust that now his connection with us has been severed, that he will desist from his campaign of hate and untruths.

You will be pleased to know that we are not a cult and follow Christian principles taught by Christ. We preach His gospel of love on a completely non-denominational basis. We had no idea that Bjarne was a self styled guru, running a cult. I pray that God blesses him and his followers with the Truth of Christ's teaching, rather than the misguided thoughts and views that he expresses. We are very grateful to you for all your advice. Bless you and a very Happy Easter to you and all in your Ministry.

Very best wishes,

Andrew and the Team
