Night...The dreamer stands on the deck of a wooden sailing ship, of the 17th or 18th century. A shrouded body lies on a plank extended over the rail. The dreamer holds the head end of the plank, then tips it upward to send the body sliding down into the waves below. Several other shadowy people also participate in this burial at sea. In the dream it is understood that the body is the dreamer's; the dreamer is simultaneously the body who is cast into the ocean, and the one who throws it in.
